Aquatic Ecology
Research emphasis in the Aquatic Ecology AOS includes the study of the interrelationships between living freshwater organisms and their environment, as defined by a variety of chemical and physical conditions that are subject to modification by natural processes and human influences.
Major issues include the effects of atmospheric deposition and land use/land cover change on stream, lake, and wetland ecosystems, population dynamics of aquatic organisms, relationships between community structure and functioning, and conservation biology.
